Year after year, Colorado counties top the lists of the fastest-growing areas in the United States, and a new study puts Colorado ahead of where it was last year for attracting new residents.
Allied Van Lines, the giant moving company that annually reports on where people are moving, ranked Colorado number 8 on its list of the most inbound states for 2013 and number 14 for outbound states. In previous years, Allied ranked Colorado number 12 among inbound states.
On top of this study, the United States Census Bureau estimates that the population of Colorado in 2013 was 5,187,582 which is ranked the 22nd largest population in the United States. This estimate shows a 3.1% increase since the last census in 2010, also conducted by the United States Census Bureau.
By comparison, the U.S. population increased by just 2.39% during the same time frame.
The population of Colorado is expected to reach approximately 5.4 million people by 2015, which is an approximate 4.1% increase from current population.
