Celebrating Our 43rd Annual Earth Day

Apr 30, 2013

With the celebration of Earth Day last week, being mindful of water conservation is essential. We need to keep conservation on our minds all year long.

In addition to saving money on your utility bill, water conservation helps prevent water pollution in nearby lakes, rivers and local watersheds.

The Colorado River alone offers $26 billion in economic benefits to the nation, but is so overused that it has become the “most endangered river” in the nation, according to the head of the American Rivers advocacy group.

On top of thirty-six million people from Denver to Los Angeles drinking water from the Colorado River, it also irrigates nearly 4 million acres of land, which grows 15 percent of the nation’s crops.

What would we do without our natural resources? Let’s do what we can to help preserve them.
