Denver Remains Among the Fastest Growing Cities

Mar 20, 2015

Forbes Magazine has recently ranked the Denver metro area among the top 10 fastest-growing cities in the nation.

Denver was not only pegged as one of the top 10 states for job growth in a recent Leeds study, but also broke its annual oil production record last year.

To compile the ranking titled “America’s Fastest Growing Cities 2015,” Forbes looked at the 100 most populous cities and their year-over-year job growth, economic growth rate, unemployment rate, and median annual pay for college-educated workers.

Here are the stats for the metro area, which includes Denver, Aurora and Broomfield:

Population growth rate (2014): 1.74 percent

Projected population growth rate (2015): 1.43 percent

Job growth rate: 2.66 percent

Unemployment: 4 percent

Gross Metro Product Growth (2014): 2.52 percent

Median pay: $64,300
