Denver as the Capital of the West

Oct 15, 2013

The region known by Forbes Magazine as the Inland West (extending from the foothills of the Rockies to the coastal ranges that shelter the Pacific Coast) has enjoyed the most rapid population growth in the nation from 2003 to 2013. The growth (21%) is due to the regions quality of life coupled with relatively low housing prices.

Forbes predicts that this region – with Denver as its capital city – will be the area of the country with the largest population growth over the next decade as the area boasts the highest percentage of young people under 20 in the U. S.

Forbes calculates the region will be home to 7 percent more people in 2023, giving it 34.6 million residents.
