Lower Heating Bills

Oct 23, 2015

Heating and cooling air conditioner concept

As fall and winter gradually approach, it may cost lower to heat your home this year. Natural gas prices were at about $3.20 per thousand cubic feet earlier this year and haven’t been above $3 in the last three months.

This translates to upcoming monthly heating bills likely being a lot smaller compared to last year.

In fact, the average monthly natural gas bills for residential customers during October, November, and December are expected to be 20 percent less than the average bills during the last three months of 2014.

To put that in perspective, natural gas bills are expected to be about $56 per month during the fourth quarter of 2015, compared to the average $70 during the fourth quarter of 2014.

On the electricity side of the bill, expect a smaller change.

Typical residential electricity bills are expected to be about 2 percent lower during the fourth quarter of 2015, averaging around $69 per month.
