The Power of “Pay It Forward”

Apr 21, 2014

Alaris Properties, Real EstateJon was having lunch at Blue Sky Cafe and Juice Bar with an associate. He was just walking out the door when he overheard a woman at the counter trying to check out and being repeatedly denied. She was very upset and confused, as she expected to have plenty of money to cover her lunch. Jon got to his car and sat down before he realized, “What am I doing? I should just pay for her lunch.”

He got out of his car and went back inside. It was no big deal for him to spend $20 and he was happy to pay for her lunch. The woman was very grateful and they both went on with their days.

Several days later, Jon received this thank you card that read:

“Thank you so much for your help. A little kindness makes such a difference in a day… your thoughtfulness certainly made a difference in mine. Thanks again.”

Handwritten note: Your “Pay it Forward” saved me as our account was being drained from identity theft in Eastern Europe. My friends have decided to start a “Pay it Forward” club because of you. So nice to know there are still kind strong people in the world. Many thanks, please enjoy lunch on me. – Susan.

There was a Blue Sky Cafe gift card in the thank you note.
