Winter is NOT a Bad Time to Sell

Jan 7, 2015

Myth: It’s not a good idea to sell your home in the winter. Sellers should wait until spring to list their home.

Fact: Life doesn’t wait for the “right” season.

Sure, the typical “selling season” tends to start in late-March, peaks during the warm summer months, and falls off around October because of colder weather, but this trend does not determine the best time for you to sell. In Colorado, we’re lucky enough to see 300+ days of sunshine, which means our winters aren’t full of daily blizzards and difficult travel conditions. It gets cold here, but our winters are very manageable.

Alaris PropertiesWhen you list your home in the winter months, you’ll face less competition and find more serious buyers. It would be nice if life followed a schedule, but if your job requires you to relocate or your family has expanded, you may not be able to wait for the “right” season.
